Continuing the Poetry Schmoetry Blogfest hosted by Shelly Brown of "Writing With Shelly" blog, this poem is inspired by one of the four photo options provided for us. Goal: Use one of the images below to inspire you. I hope you all enjoy this one. Again, all of my poems are fresh, brand new and free-styled. I thank Shelly for the invitation to share my writing and my goal is to use the different themes to elevate my creativity as a writer/poet/photographer.

*Note: There is one quote that I used in here that I thought of earlier in the month, yet couldn't find a poem that it would fit in (lines 23-25). When I created the quote, I was thinking of the same person that inspired the title and poem as a whole. I believe it fits in here well, and I hope you all feel the same.

Now presenting to you.... Trust Me
Picture
I am a man
Reaching, striving, and touching
Various levels of ambition levels

Care to read my dream list?
I must warn you
The pages saunter into triple digit numbers
A mature wheel of cheese
As I watch the evaluator
Scribble on his clipboard

"Click. Check. Click."

Every night
My coffee pot is filled
To a dozen cups
Quenching my thirst
Productivity meter reads
"At an all time high"

Success to me
Means living dreams in reality
Reaching past the milky way
Only to share it with one special person

I toast the first cup to you

I admire your work ethic
You may be 1000+ miles away for 11 months
But my viewfinder and 55-200 mm lens
Is clearly focused on you.

I hope you don't give up on love
In due time
Our GPS dots
Will intertwine with each other
Allow me a few minutes
To make moments
That lead you and me
Into us

I'm asking a lot
So may I ask you this?
Can I deliver my feelings through photography?
With every fiber in my skin
Asking you out
Will come when its ready
But I'm more nervous to ask you
Will you trust me?

Right now, I'm listening to Beyonce's - Run The World (Girls) (instrumental) . I'm a band geek and of course I played in the percussion section (quads/quints/tenor). That's my reason (not excuse) to why I love instrumentals. You can listen to this while you read if you want to hear what I hear while I write this.

Let me get to you where this is intended to go. Shelly Brown of "Writing with Shelly" blog is hosting the Poetry Schmoetry Blogfest. If you're following and reading all of the great poetry, as you can tell, I am two days late. Shelly gave me permission to take some steps back and catch up.

So, the next two poems will be fresh, brand new, and are being written as (freestyle) poems. I hope you enjoy what you read, and I can't wait to explore the other poets and their material (I'm still majorly behind in my blog reading, so please have mercy on me lol). It is my pleasure to present to you... M.I.A. (Missing In Action).

Right in the middle of your sentence
My phone plays
Chamillionaire - This My World
My iPAD e-mail alert beeps
And that only means one thing

Everyone asks me
"Why do you work so much?"
"Do you ever have fun?"

I wake up
Writing about food, poetry, or life
Sometimes its all three at once
With a smile on my face
From sunrise to sunset

Friends wonder why
I'm not out partying
Living up the summer
Just like they are

So I point to the calendar
At specific dates
On August 15th
I will be 21
In 323 days
I will be living my dream
And in December...

Well you will just have to wait
And view the next blog post
In my massive blog post
Drop-off
But for now
I must become M.I.A.
Just for a few minutes
To create great writing
And photo material for you all

I remember like it was yesterday, I was just a young boy who was very nerdy and anxiously ready to catch the bus for school in the morning. I didn't need anyone to tell me that an education was important. It was already built into my brain like a memory card implemented into my frontal and temporal lobes.
