At first I would do try to set money aside every week for something I can not live without, now I have decided to make this an official blog feature. 

For anyone who knows me, I love music! Like really love it! So it should be no surprise that I would create a valid reason for myself to purchase new music as much as possible! Every Monday I will share with you all the new music I purchase and why I view it as an artist(s)/band(s) you should support as well (depending on what type of music you like of course). 

Oh and I must make everyone aware who does not know this about me. I only purchase physical copies of the albums! Yes I am young enough to know about the new age digital purchasing on iTUNES, it is just one of the new digital trends I decided not to follow. As a avid supporter of musicians/bands when I purchase an album, I am not just purchasing the music, I am investing in learning more about the artist.

Have you taken a look at the books/cases that are in an album? Maybe it's because I am a photographer and avid reader that I like to have the books/cases at my disposal. :)

To be quite frank, I listen to every genre of music. Seriously! 

However, I must note (and I know this may catch some people off guard or make them/you mad... it's my opinion so take it for exactly what it is) I am not keen into Hip-Hop music. Don't get me wrong, I listen to it, it's just not the first section I run to in a music store. Majority of the Hip-Hop artists today only speak about these topics: money, girls (I'm saying the nice way, they tend to use other words), cars, drugs and/or sex. Don't get me wrong, if you can suggest to me more Hip-Hop artists like B.o.B or Chamillionaire then I am all for listening and supporting them by purchasing their albums. Just my take on today's world of Hip-Hop music. 

Now that is out of the way, here is what you can expect from me on New Music Monday's!

Sometimes I have a theme as to what music I want to buy for the week. Examples include:

• An artist(s)/band(s) I really like and know their album is being released, a specific genere of music.
• Going into the music store with no theme buying whatever sounds good (which has never failed me so I hope I can continue buying music on the fly haha). 
• Or (like today), there is an artist(s)/band(s) I Iike and just haven't purchased their album(s) yet. 
  

With that fresh in your mind, I will start out the NMM series with the 2 new albums I purchased today in addition to updating this blog post with previous albums I ave purchased on what I call my weekly holiday!

Ingrid Michaelson, an Indie-Pop singer-songwriter based in New York. I have listened to Ingrid's music for quite a while, I just haven't bought her albums... until now! Ingrid's style is all her own. There is absolutely no way you could listen to her music and mistake that it is anybody else but Ingrid!
